NOAA's Weekly Forecast For Hillsboro, KS

On May 4th, 2007, Greensburg, KS took a direct hit by a tornado that was over half a mile wide. The tornado damaged or destroyed 95% of the structures in town, and was later rated an EF5. The following pictures are before and after shots of the Greensburg water tower. Greensburg has the deepest hand dug well in the world.
