Computer Misuse Discipline Guidelines |

Students will be responsible for how they use the district’s technology and laptop. The following list of consequences may be implemented individually or in combinations based on administrative judgment. USD #410 reserves the right to define inappropriate use of technology. The guidelines below will be considered for any violation of the district’s Acceptable Use Policy signed by the student and parent. ¨ Students will be denied use of the internet for a minimum of one week for unauthorized use of e-mail, hot mail, or chat rooms. ¨ Violations could result in a suspension of user privileges for three weeks for more severe abuses. ¨ School administrators reserve the right to remove student accounts on the network to prevent unauthorized activity. ¨ Increased filtering at home may be implemented. ¨ A key logger may be used to specifically identify what a student is typing. ¨ A student’s computer may be confiscated during non-school hours for a specified time. ¨ Detentions and suspensions may be issued as consequences for inappropriate computer use. Parents will be notified when their child has inappropriately used the district’s technology. |
