¨ Before a student is issued a laptop each school year, he or she must have paid a user fee based on a student’s lunch payment status (outlined below) to help cover the cost of insurance, and have signed the acceptable use policy.

¨ Any intent or willful neglect of the laptop warranting costs over the insurance coverage will be the responsibility of the student and parents.  Mishandling of the computer may result in losing the privilege of issuance and/or other disciplinary consequences deemed appropriate by the building principal.

¨ In addition, lost power adapters and batteries are not covered by insurance and are the responsibility of the student/parent.

The district has made a sizable financial commitment to provide our students with a one-to-one computer use opportunity. We believe students should respect the district’s commitment by paying for repairs resulting from negligence or intent to harm. There are three levels of repairs, beginning with $25 for minor repairs to replacement cost of the computer. Privileges may be revoked until payments are made in full.

Level One:  $25 Examples include but are not limited to : keyboards, hinge covers and palm rests.

Level Two:  $100 Examples included but are not limited to:  batteries, screen and casing.

Level Three:  Replacement cost of the computer.

 

One to One privileges may be revoked until payment is made in full.
