FORENSICS

Forensics is extra-curricular competition in the areas of speaking, acting, and interpretation.  Students prepare speeches and acting selections that they perform in competition at invitational level, at the regional level, and ultimately, at the state level.

Seventeenth century dramatist, Ben Johnson once said, “No mirror renders so true a likeness as a man’s speech,” and “An actor is only as good as his imagination; it is the essence of his being.”  In our society where the job market is increasingly competitive, it is important for students to have every advantage in verbally expressing themselves and presenting themselves in a poised, professional  manner.

Forensics is an excellent opportunity for students to develop not only their public speaking skills, but also their personal presentation skills as well.  It opens an avenue for their imagination and avails them of opportunities to express themselves in an entertaining format.  Forensics also provides students with the prospects of making new friends, both locally and state-wide, as well as helping students to feel a part of a team.
